DogMa Daycare is looking for a reliable, motivated, and experienced individual to join our team as our Sunday Daycare Manager and cover as a manager on other days when needed.
We are a busy dog daycare and boarding facility dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and caring environment for every dog that comes through our doors. We are looking for someone who loves working with dogs, has strong leadership skills, and can confidently oversee our facility's Sunday operations.
This is a hands-on management position, so our ideal candidate isn't afraid to jump in, get dirty, and help wherever needed!
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all Sunday daycare and boarding operations, ensuring the facility runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Supervise, support, and direct dog handlers throughout their shifts.
- Ensure all dogs receive proper care, supervision, feeding, medications (when applicable), and attention.
- Monitor dog behavior and recognize signs of stress, aggression, illness, or other safety concerns.
- Manage dog playgroups and make decisions regarding appropriate group placements, breaks, and individual care needs.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to dog altercations, injuries, emergencies, or behavioral concerns.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding their dogs, reservations, concerns, and incidents.
- Ensure staff members complete assigned cleaning duties and maintain a clean, safe facility.
- Hold employees accountable for following company policies, safety procedures, and daily responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, behavioral concerns, and important daily updates.
- Communicate important information and concerns to upper management.
- Assist with hands-on dog care, cleaning, feeding, and other daily tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a dog daycare, boarding facility, veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or similar animal care environment preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dog body language, behavior, and safe handling techniques.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful or emergency situations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
- Ability to lead a team while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
- Comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods, cleaning, bending, and handling dogs safely.
-Must be consistently available to work Sundays.
