Essential Functions
- Ability to develop a book of business with construction, industrial and oil and gas customers to rent construction equipment
- Daily planning/scheduling and daily calls to various customer job sites and offices
- Maintain budgeted metrics on rental revenue, utilization, new accounts, active accounts and pricing
- Ability to perform needs analysis and develop plan to meet customers’ needs within parameters of the rental department
- Ability to penetrate different market segments within a given geographic territory to maintain a diverse book of business
- Use Company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related activity in a timely and accurate manner. Use of the system should contribute directly to the rental process
- Develop a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends
- Coordinate and/or conduct field demonstrations as well as operate machinery at customer work site
- Work in conjunction with Sales Manager and Sales Support Group department, responsible for follow-up and expediting rentals
- Accountable for timely follow up on each transaction to ensure customer satisfaction
- Coordinate and/or communicate with customers and applicable departments to ensure timely delivery
- Coordinate pickup and delivery of equipment as needed
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Doggett Company, LLC
- Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
- Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
- Knowledge of company specific software
Qualifications
- College degree in sales, marketing or business preferred or 3-4 years of related sales experience
- Solid understanding of local market conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Daily consistent use of a professional CRM
Travel Requirements
- On average 8–12 face to face sales calls per day
- Ability to travel 15% of the time or as needed
