Job Overview: Detailer
Key Responsibilities:
The CAD Detailer will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner:
- Produce line drawings for Line and Grade Teams
- Produces working formwork shop drawings based on the chosen formwork system
- Produces pour break drawings
- Communicates with the field on drawing conflicts and issues related to formwork
- Reviews construction drawings for dimensional conflicts and clarifications
- Produces RFIs to resolve conflicts
- Maintains project drawing files
- Compares and checks their production drawings to the construction documents
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent; minimum of one year of related detailing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Basic understanding of BIM
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
- Good listening skills
- Ability to comprehend documents such as blueprints and construction drawings
- Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as geometry, trigonometry, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and apply them to practical solutions
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Ability to deal with problems involving specific variables in standardized and unique situations
- Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished by written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as blueprints and construction drawings
