Pay: $16–18/hour, depending on experience
Schedule:

• Tuesday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM OR 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM
• Every other Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

About the Position

We're looking for a dependable, energetic Dog Trainer to join our Training Center team. This role focuses on caring for, training, and enriching dogs enrolled in our Elite Training Camp programs while providing exceptional client service during morning check-in and afternoon pick-up.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe training environment.
• Assist with Group Classes on select Saturdays.
• Represent Dog Training Elite Northern Utah with professionalism and outstanding customer service.

Overall Responsibilities

• Train dogs participating in our Elite Training Camp programs.
• Reinforce obedience commands, manners, and engagement throughout the day.
• Implement individualized training plans, including behavior modification and confidence-building exercises.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe Training Center.
• Keep detailed training notes and communicate each dog's progress with the training team.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent Dog Training Elite Northern Utah with professionalism.
• Work collaboratively with fellow trainers to ensure consistency in training and client communication.
• Assist with Group Classes, public outings, evaluations, and special events as assigned.

Morning (AM) Shift Responsibilities

• Prepare the Training Center for the day.
• Welcome clients during morning drop-off.
• Perform health and wellness checks as dogs arrive.
• Coordinate potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and kennel routines.
• Set each dog up for a successful day of training.

Afternoon (PM) Shift Responsibilities

• Continue each dog's daily training program.
• Complete daily report cards with notes on each dog's progress and homework.
• Ensure dogs are exercised, cleaned up, and ready to go home in a timely manner.
• Prepare dogs and their belongings for afternoon pick-up.
• Welcome clients during pick-up and provide a positive handoff, reviewing each dog's progress and answering questions.
• Clean, sanitize, and reset the Training Center for the next training day.
• Secure the facility at closing.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about dogs and committed to helping them succeed.
• Friendly, professional, and confident working with clients.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Physically able to stand, walk, lift, and handle active dogs throughout the day.

Preferred Experience

• Professional dog training experience
• Balanced training methodology (LIMA-informed preferred)
• Puppy development and obedience training
• Behavior modification
• Group class instruction
• Service dog or therapy dog training experience

Requirements

• Valid Utah driver's license
• Reliable transportation to AM or PM shift in Davis County
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• No dog allergies that would prevent working in a training environment

Employment Status

This position includes a 90-day probationary period during which reliability, professionalism, training competency, and alignment with our team culture will be evaluated.
