We are seeking a knowledgeable, motivated, and compassionate Certified Dog Trainer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a trainer who is confident working hands-on with dogs of varying breeds, ages, and behavioral needs, and who values clear communication with both dogs and their owners.
As a Dog Trainer, you will be expected to work on-site, providing structured, consistent training while maintaining strong relationships with clients through regular updates and education. Flexibility, professionalism, and a genuine passion for dog behavior are essential.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site dog training sessions using humane, effective, and consistent training methods
- Work with dogs of various temperaments, ages, and skill levels (basic obedience, behavior modification, etc.)
- Adapt daily training time based on the needs of each dog and the overall training schedule
- Develop and follow individualized training plans tailored to each dog
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with clients, including:
- Regular updates on training progress
- Education on follow-through techniques and expectations
- Addressing questions or concerns professionally and promptly
- Accurately document training progress and notes
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in handling and training approaches
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive training environment
Requirements
- Certified Dog Trainer (certification must be current and verifiable)
- Minimum of 1 year of professional dog training experience
- Strong understanding of canine behavior, learning theory, and training techniques
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and energy levels
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to be flexible with daily training hours as needed
Compensation
- 50% commission on all dog training services completed
- Commission is paid per completed training session/package
- Income potential is directly tied to training volume and performance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a daycare, boarding, or training facility
- Experience with behavior modification cases
- Strong client education and relationship-building skills
