What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Technician/Dog Caretaker position at Dog Haus University?

Kennel Technician/Dog Caretakers are responsible for maintaining the health, safety and comfort of all of our 4-legged guests and some customer interaction.
Primary duties will include:
- Cleaning/sanitizing boarding suites, play areas, and common areas
- Washing dishes and laundry
- Using verbal cues, body blocking, and proactive intervention to manage dog interactions
- Leading, monitoring and managing groups of dogs to keep arousal levels low while everyone has fun
- Spending time interacting with each dog individually and knowing their limits, play styles, and help signals
- Recording and reporting accurate info on the health, activities, and behavior of each dog to the Manager
Secondary duties may include:
- Assisting with handling guests (dogs) at check-in and check-out
- Documenting, storing and organizing guests' food, medications, and belongings
- Preparing and distributing meals, treats, fresh water, and medications (if needed)
Qualifications:
- Passion for animal care
- Attentive, observant, and detailed oriented
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Physically able to secure and handle large dogs
- Physically able to clean and perform minor maintenance
- Positive attitude and friendly disposition
- Preference for candidates with previous work experience with dogs; only highly experienced candidates qualify for the higher end of the pay range
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
