Dog Daycare and Kennel Attendant

Dog Dayz is seeking reliable Dog Day Care and/or Dog & Cat Boarding Attendants to provide excellent care to dogs and cats staying at our facility. There are full-time and part-time positions available with flexible scheduling. All positions include direct handling of pets and cleaning.

Our ideal candidate is a person who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for our customers while their dogs and cats are with us. We expect you to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs and cats and put customers at ease, communicating with them, and assuring them that their pets will be safe and professionally cared for. Prior experience in animal care or kennel work is preferred.

Attendant Duties and Responsibilities (For Boarding and Daycare)

• Supervise dogs in play areas to ensure pet safety
• Ascertain dog personalities and play types and assign them to appropriate play groups, with the assistance of management
• Take dogs for walks and hikes
• Clean and maintain kennels and kennel facilities, keeping them free of waste, fur/hair, dirt, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials
• Give dogs food and water throughout the day according to instructions
• Perform morning, noon, and evening feeding and beginning/end-of-day maintenance/cleaning routines
• Perform deep cleaning
• Interact with pet owners and provide excellent customer service
• Check customers in and out and light receptionist duties
• Keep records of feeding and walking schedules for each dog
• Photograph and post on social media
• Communicate with pet owners verbally, by text/email, and social media about their pets

Overnight Caretaker

• Take dogs out for night potties
• Clean, feed, water, and give meds as needed during the night
• Ensure the safety and security of the property
• Perform cleaning and maintenance duties

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with reliable transportation to and from work
• Prior experience at a dog daycare or boarding facility, shelter, vet office, or personal animal care is preferred
• Familiarity with dog behavior and various dog breeds
• Familiarity with kennel operations and maintenance
• Passion for taking care of animals
• Ability to work with a team, communicate with co-workers, and present a professional demeanor to customers
• Ability to keep track of schedules, multiple dogs and their needs/personalities, and customer and pet names
• Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining kennels
• Loyal, hard-working, honest, mature, friendly

Beginning hourly $16 up to $20 depending upon experience and shift

Full-time, part-time, weekend, overnight, and as-needed for vacation and holiday coverage

Flexible shifts and scheduling, with greatest need for full-time/day daycare Attendants.

Pay: From $16.00 to $20.00 per hour
