Doerr MacWilliams Howard PLLC is a boutique litigation firm with a strong track record of trial and appellate success and a reputation for winning or favorably resolving difficult, high-stakes disputes for our clients, in and out of court. We are actively seeking experienced associates with 2 years of litigation experience who will thrive in a competitive complex litigation environment to add to our busy team of skilled litigators.
This role is an opportunity for a creative, dedicated and client-focused attorney to continue to build their own litigation practice in a supportive and highly collaborative setting while working on a wide range of challenging cases in both state and federal courts.
Ideal candidates will be versatile and highly motivated attorneys with a proven ability to handle all aspects of complex litigation matters, including:
- Analyzing and researching legal issues
- Working directly with clients
- Managing discovery
- Drafting and arguing motions
- Taking witness and expert depositions
- Exercising good judgment to identify, plan and accomplish goals within a case
To be considered, a candidate must have the following qualifications:
- 2 years of litigation experience, ideally with courtroom experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, excellent legal research skills with LexisNexis or Westlaw, a talent for writing and/or oral advocacy, and advanced computer proficiency.
- A strong commitment to professional excellence and ongoing development.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the Michigan Bar in good standing.
