Business Advisory Manager

Doeren Mayhew is seeking a Manager to work in our Business Advisory department headquartered in Troy, Michigan. The ideal candidate would have 5 plus years of public accounting experience in business and individual tax preparation/review and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Perform tax research on complex tax issues.
• Manage engagement team members to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and be a resource for team members.
• Provide guidance/mentorship to associates and interns and assist them in developing technical skills.
• Maintain timely and accurate communication with team and clients to manage expectations, deadlines and deliverables.
• Build and maintain client relationships and ensure client needs are being met.
• Demonstrate advanced technical aptitude of taxation and handle complex returns and projects with confidence.
• Lead the preparation of financial reports cash-flow statements, budgets, projections, and dashboard reports. Analyze and reconcile financial accounts, support general ledger management, provide cash-flow analysis and report on budget variances.
• Review and lead the preparation of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, C-corporations, S-corporations, trusts, personal property, and payroll.
• Provide QuickBooks support and training to clients in a variety of industries.
• Assist with compliance and IRS notices.
• Participate in special projects such as strategic planning, exit planning, systems optimization, organizational design, etc.
• Utilize analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex technical issues.
• Seek opportunities to participate in practice development to build network of referral sources.
• Present new ideas and improvements for ways of performing tasks in order to achieve firm and departmental goals.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA license required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in domestic tax
• Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively train, coach, and mentor others
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms
• Ability to manage multiple projects/clients and deadlines
