Overview
Assistant Teacher – Doe Creek
The Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for students. Responsibilities include assisting with daily classroom activities, helping implement lesson plans, supervising students during learning and play times, and supporting individual student needs. The Assistant Teacher helps maintain classroom organization, prepares learning materials, and encourages positive behavior and social development. This role also involves communicating effectively with teachers and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive educational experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and activities
- Support students with learning tasks and social development
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and supplies
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and structured classroom environment
- Supervise students during classroom, playground, and transition times
- Encourage positive behavior and participation
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with early childhood education principles and practices.
- First aid certification is preferred to ensure student safety.
- Experience in special education or working with diverse learners is highly valued.
- Background in tutoring, babysitting, or camp counseling is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
