Job Description Bus Shop Mechanic
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- Physically fit and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Ability to acquire a current Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements for driving school buses
- Any alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
JOB GOAL: To assist in maintaining the buses in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to repair and maintain bus engines, including changing tires, brakes, oil,
- Ability to proficiently perform mechanical work as requested by supervisor.
- Conforms with all state laws and regulations regarding school
- Maintains a current inventory of supplies and
- Assists with retrieving broken down buses, buses from ditches,
- Obeys all traffic
- Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school
- Maintains discipline when students are on
- Assists in keeping buses
- Keeps assigned
- Keeps work area clean and
- Maintains professional and courteous relationships with all school
- Performs other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position as assigned by the transportation supervisor or Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month contract
EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy
