Education
EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year certificate from college or technical school and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Two years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, customers, and the general public. Bi-lingual skills English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages; ability add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to comprehend, retain and demonstrate new skills as they are learned.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must type 60 wpm, be skilled in word processing, document preparation and database management.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher; experience with web page design or HTML, accurate typing and editing skills as demonstrated by a Passing score on a district clerical assessment or Microsoft Office certification in Excel and Word.
- A high level of organization required.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels including excellent listening skills.
- Experience with web page design and maintenance is also preferred
- Greet visitors and handle busy phones lines in a courteous and welcoming manner.
- Translate spoken and written information.
- Utilize progressively complex computer skills to perform data entry, report generation, and/or bookkeeping functions with a variety of data bases for building/district departments or schools with small enrollments.
- Produce memos, letters, reports, and other documents from dictation or other directions of a supervisor; this may involve some original composition skills.
- Organize and maintain an efficient filing system for department materials and documents.
- Respond to change in a positive and productive manner.
- Observe district policies and guidelines in all job responsibilities.
- Create and track Purchase Orders for Public Information, Safety and Security and others.
- Complete and track Travel Requests for Public Information, Safety and Security and others.
- Prepare accurate and professional outgoing correspondence.
- Cross train with other personnel for additional coverage and assistance when needed.
- Assist with social media updates on behalf of the district.
- Other duties as assigned.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment is in an office setting.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
