Overview
The Configuration Management Specialist provides analytical and administrative support across a range of configuration management activities in support of Navy acquisition and sustainment programs. This role is responsible for maintaining configuration records, managing document control processes, overseeing status accounting activities, and tracking configuration changes throughout the system lifecycle. At the senior level, the specialist takes a lead role in directing configuration management activities, supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), ensuring configuration baseline integrity, and providing expert guidance on change management and configuration control processes from inception through sustainment.
The Configuration Management Specialist Will
Individuals working for SBG Technology Solutions, Inc, a DSS, Inc. will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Salary at SBG Technology Solutions, Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000.00 to $115,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc.’s total compensation package for employees.

The Configuration Management Specialist Will
- Maintain configuration records, repositories, and document libraries.
- Track configuration changes, action items, and approval workflows.
- Support configuration status accounting activities.
- Assist with preparation of configuration reports and management products.
- Coordinate and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings and actions.
- Analyze Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), deviations, waivers, and change requests.
- Ensure configuration baselines are established, maintained, and accurately documented.
- Develop configuration status reports, metrics, and management products.
- Support configuration audits and quality reviews.
- Coordinate document routing, review, and approval activities.
- Maintain configuration management databases and trackers.
- Support meeting preparation and records management activities.
- Assist senior personnel with configuration management activities.
- Support administrative and programmatic actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass a Federal background check
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment

- 4 years of relevant experience. (Low - Mid Position)
- 10 years of relevant experience. (Mid - Senior Position)
- Microsoft Suite proficiency – Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint – if not proficient, must have willingness and drive to train / retrain
- Strong organizational and record-management skills.
- Ability to maintain documentation and tracking systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- 7 years of relevant experience.(Low Mid Position)
- 15 years of relevant experience. (Low Senior Position)
- Familiarity with configuration management concepts.
- Experience supporting engineering, logistics, or acquisition programs.
- Required: Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Desired: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Information Systems, or related field.
- Required: None.
- Desired: CMII, CMPIC, or equivalent Configuration Management certification.
