Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Registered Nurse to serve in a dual role supporting Infection Prevention and Employee Health. This position is responsible for monitoring infection control practices, supporting regulatory compliance, and promoting employee health and safety within a hospital setting. Duties
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct comprehensive employee health screenings, immunizations, and health assessments to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within the facility.
- Monitor patient observations and care plans related to infection control efforts, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and best practices in microbiology.
- Collect, analyze, and manage data related to infection rates, epidemiology trends, and compliance metrics using robust data management tools.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy in infection control documentation review processes; maintain meticulous medical-surgical records.
- Lead staff education sessions on infection prevention strategies, OSHA guidelines, and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Collaborate with management to develop action plans for outbreak investigations or exposure incidents while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
- Oversee patient monitoring activities related to infectious disease care while ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed across all departments including acute care settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as hospital ICU units or medical-surgical wards; experience in assisted living or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong background in infectious disease care, epidemiology principles, microbiology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology fundamentals.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous management or supervisory roles in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) processes and data collection methods for quality improvement initiatives.
- Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, documentation review, and patient observation techniques.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards related to workplace safety and infection control practices.
