Job Description
Doctors Charter School (DCS) of Miami Shores is a college-preparatory, municipally sponsored, “A” rated public charter school serving grades 6–12 in the heart of Miami Shores. As we expand our academic offerings for the 2026–2027 school year, we are seeking dynamic and passionate educators to join our growing team. Recognized for academic excellence, a strong school culture, and high expectations, DCS offers a supportive, collaborative environment where teachers are valued as professionals and leaders. With approximately 570 students and small class sizes, our school community fosters meaningful relationships, student engagement, and a focus on preparing students for college and global citizenship.
We are currently hiring Secondary Teachers in the following content areas:
- English Language Arts (ELA)
- Mathematics
- Drama

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates understanding of central concepts and structure of assigned subject area.
- Develops a classroom climate of openness, fairness, mutual respect, and inquiry.
- Engages every student in grade-level appropriate learning experiences.
- Develops and implements course, unit, and lesson plans aligned to state standards.
- Uses appropriate technology in teaching and learning processes.
- Interacts effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
- Works collaboratively with school personnel and families to support student learning.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university (required).
- Possession of, or eligibility for, a Florida Teaching Certificate in the relevant subject area (required).
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and decision-making abilities.
