Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our primary care team starting in December, with an option to extend the engagement. The ideal candidate will bring extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including urgent care, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, and specialty procedures. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and eClinicalWorks.
- Administer medications and injections, including IV infusions, immunizations, and dermal fillers.
- Assist with procedures such as suturing, catheterization, spinal taps, gastrostomy tube placements, and airway management.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across multiple specialties including critical care, infectious disease care, pain management, and hospice & palliative medicine.
- Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and telehealth services.
- Document medical records accurately following HIPAA regulations and CPT coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient and outpatient settings including ICU, NICU/PICU, emergency room, and post-acute care environments.
- Participate in clinical research activities and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide health coaching and education tailored to diverse populations such as seniors with dementia or patients with developmental disabilities.
Requirements
- Valid certification as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with current licensure.
- Demonstrated experience in primary care settings with proficiency in medical documentation and medical terminology.
- Extensive clinical experience across various specialties including emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal care), behavioral health, and specialty procedures like Botox or ultrasound-guided interventions.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology (including psychopharmacology), infection control protocols, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Ability to perform invasive procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing techniques, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, ventilator management, and basic life support certification required.
- Experience working in hospital environments including Level I/II trauma centers or teaching hospitals preferred.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
