Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a family practice team on a locum basis, starting in January for a duration of three months. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience across various specialties, including primary care, urgent care, hospital medicine, and specialty areas such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment utilizing advanced EMR/EHR systems and engaging in comprehensive patient care. The APP will be responsible for delivering high-quality medical services, performing assessments, and supporting patient management across diverse clinical settings.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across all age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal, and adult populations.
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions utilizing skills in critical care, emergency medicine, and outpatient settings.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, IV insertion, catheterization, venipuncture, phlebotomy, sterile processing, and sterile techniques.
  • Administer injections including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers; provide pain management and acute care interventions.
  • Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks for documentation and order entry.
  • Coordinate discharge planning, case management, utilization review, and health coaching to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Engage in diagnostic evaluation with laboratory experience and medical imaging interpretation; support telehealth consultations when applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols while maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital settings (Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, inpatient units, hospice & palliative care programs, and post-acute care facilities.
  • Provide specialized care in areas such as infectious disease management, occupational health, behavioral health, dementia & Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.

Qualifications

  • Valid licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) with current state certification.
  • Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth; telehealth experience preferred.
  • Proven clinical expertise across multiple specialties: family practice, urgent care, hospital medicine (ICU experience), emergency medicine (ER experience), geriatrics (including memory & dementia care), pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator & infant care), dermatology (dermal fillers), pain management (acute pain & IV infusion), infectious disease care, occupational health & post-acute settings.
  • Skills in performing procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including gastric lavage), tube feeding management, ventilator support adjustments.
  • Knowledge of CPT coding & ICD coding (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation; familiarity with Workers' Compensation law is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Critical thinking skills with a focus on patient-centered care; excellent communication abilities for working with diverse populations including assisted living residents and those with developmental disabilities. This position is ideal for experienced APPs seeking a temporary yet impactful role within a reputable healthcare organization that values comprehensive clinical expertise across multiple disciplines to deliver exceptional patient care over the course of three months starting in January.

Pay: $110.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person

Salary : $110,000 - $220,000
