Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Cook to lead our kitchen operations while actively preparing meals in a casual, All-American restaurant setting. This is a working role—you’ll be responsible for food preparation, and ensuring quality, consistency, and speed of service. Our menu features classic American favorites like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and comfort food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items efficiently, consistently, and to standard recipes
- Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets quality, portion, and presentation standards
- Oversee kitchen cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety standards
- Train, mentor, and support cooks, prep staff, and dishwashers
- Help manage food and supply inventory; communicate ordering needs to management
- Monitor ticket times and work with FOH staff to ensure prompt service
- Maintain a calm, focused, and solution-oriented presence during busy hours
Requirements:
- 1 years of experience as a cook in a fast-paced, casual dining environment
- Strong knowledge of classic American fare and short-order cooking techniques
- Ability to manage time, multitask, and work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills
- ServSafe (or equivalent) certification or willingness to obtain
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
