The Role
We're hiring a seasoned restaurant operator to run Doc Watson Café like a business, not a hobby.
This role owns the day-to-day operation and the numbers behind it. You are responsible for people, product, performance, and profitability. You'll have autonomy, clear expectations, and accountability.
Experience (Non-Negotiable)
- 3–5 years in restaurant management, ownership, or senior leadership
- Proven experience managing P&Ls, labor, food cost, margins, and overhead
- Strong understanding of scheduling, payroll control, inventory, and vendor management
- Track record of leading teams, not just supervising shifts
If you've never been responsible for the financial health of a restaurant, this is not the role.
Core Responsibilities
- Full operational ownership: hiring, training, scheduling, discipline, and culture
- Own food cost %, labor %, and profitability targets
- Execute and improve systems for consistency, speed, and quality
- Oversee menu execution, recipe adherence, and operational changes
- Identify inefficiencies and actively reduce waste and overhead
- Maintain strict accountability across staff and systems
- Work independently while aligning with ownership direction
- Drive continuous improvement with a health-forward mindset
