What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Field Operations Technician position at Dobson Fiber?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: perform routine grounds inspections and preventative maintenance on fiber transport cabinet and building locations

- Manages warehouse inventory for all Network Operations Facilities
- Works with Network Engineering and Network Field Operations Engineers on any equipment or facility needs for maintain service or new installations.
- Works closely with Service Delivery to maintain inventory for new and upgraded services
- Manage vendors for equipment, material and costs.
- Works closely with finance on purchase orders, work orders and reporting
- Serves existing and future accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedules; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems.
- Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
- Maintains rapport with customers, internally and externally by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
- Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Two (2) years' experience working as a field technician in the communications industry.
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Technical degree in telecommunications or degree in a similar field OR equal experience in a related field
- Knowledge in Microsoft Suites, Excel, Word, etc.
- Experience with Ethernet, Sonet, and fiber optic testing or Wireless/Wireline Operations OSP/ISP experience.
- Knowledge of Coax and Low voltage trouble shooting.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license with a non-negligent driving record
- Ability to communicate with customers and staff, and provide technical information in easy-to-understand terms.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and technical manuals.
- Ability to interpret error messages and take appropriate action
