Responsibilities
- Operate cremation machinery and industrial equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and operational guidelines
- Prepare remains for cremation, including proper identification, documentation, and handling of human remains
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on cremation equipment to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed
- Assist with heavy lifting of caskets, remains, or related materials in accordance with safety procedures
- Maintain detailed records of each cremation process, including documentation of procedures, identification tags, and disposal logs
- Follow strict environmental and health regulations to minimize emissions and ensure safe disposal of residual materials
- Support funeral directing staff by coordinating logistics related to the cremation process when necessary
Experience
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with industrial or cremation equipment is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and comfortably
- Familiarity with funeral service procedures or experience in a funeral home setting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with legal standards
- Prior experience working with industrial machinery or in a role requiring strict adherence to safety protocols is advantageous
