Responsibilities:
- Wash, peel, chop, and dice vegetables using knives or peeling machines, ensuring consistency and accuracy in cuts.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and tools at all times.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards as outlined in the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) handbook.
- Report any issues related to food safety to the manager or hygiene and food safety team.
- Check food quality and doneness through smell, piercing, or tasting, as instructed.
- Contribute to a cooperative and friendly work environment.
- Support inventory efforts by noting low stock levels and reporting to the supervisor.
- Help minimize food wastage through proper food handling and preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role in food production or kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with various vegetable cutting styles.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks during 8-hour shifts.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling as required.
- Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments.
- Service-oriented with a collaborative and team-focused mindset.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Pay rate: $17.45 hourly.
