About The Role
DNV seeks an Energy Advisor individual to serve as a key customer-facing representative of the Small Business Energy Efficiency Program, promoting the Energy Efficiency program to customer’s and trade allies within your assigned territory. conducting on-site energy assessments for small business customers. This role involves evaluating customer facilities, identifying energy-savings opportunities, recommending program solutions, and installing select direct install measures. The position will report to the Program Manager and will be a key member of staff to drive the success of the program over the coming years.
The Energy Assessor individual will work with DNV staff to ensure the successful execution of field assessments, direct installs, and data entry of all collected facility data. This field role will be in field at minimum of three days and work from home or in the office two days a week.
This role is based at our DNV office in Lansing, MI, presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site. What You'll Do
- Conduct on-site energy assessments for small business customers to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and cost savings
- Recommend tailored program solutions and facilitate participation in the Consumers Energy Small Business Energy Efficiency Program
- Install select direct-install measures such as lighting, or faucet aerators to help customers achieve immediate energy savings
- Accurately record assessment data, savings calculations , and project details in CRM systems to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Serve as a customer-facing representative, building relationships with small business customers and trade allies to promote program participation
- Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs for targeted segments of customers

About You
What is Required
- High-school Diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- 3 years of experience in sales and customer service
- Ability to use hand tools and safely install simple measures
- Comfort working independently in the field and entering various types of small business facilities
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Willingness and ability to travel locally up to 50% of the time
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
- Technical training in energy efficiency preferred
