Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
  • Manage patient scheduling efficiently, coordinating appointments across multiple providers and specialties.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification to ensure accurate billing processes.
  • Collect and document patient information accurately, review medical records, and update electronic health records with detailed notes on care plans and documentation review.
  • Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing exceptional patient service and directing calls appropriately.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical collection procedures to support accurate reimbursement.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, and uphold confidentiality standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinic or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; familiarity with dental office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing).
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, Medicare procedures, and health information management standards.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
  • Exceptional phone etiquette combined with strong organizational skills for scheduling and documentation review.
  • Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
  • Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred; familiarity with dental terminology and dental office software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
