Small Group Private Practice
Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland (Hybrid Position)
Position Type: Part-Time / Contract (1099)
We are seeking a warm, compassionate, skilled, and motivated Clinical Social Worker / Mental Health Therapist to join our small but growing private practice serving children, adults, and families.
While most of our clients are located in Montgomery County, Maryland, we also provide telehealth services to clients in DC, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
Our practice specializes in supporting individuals and families through a variety of life transitions. We have particular expertise in working with children, adolescents, their caregivers, and young adults navigating developmental and emotional challenges. We also provide specialized perinatal mental health treatment for individuals and families who are trying to conceive (TTC), newly expecting, postpartum, or adjusting to parenthood.
The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting children and caregivers while also providing thoughtful, evidence-based therapy to adults navigating a wide range of mental health concerns.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required; Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPCs) may also be considered
- Must hold a full clinical license in the State of Maryland (LCSW-C preferred; LCPC considered)
- Must maintain individual professional liability insurance
- Experience providing direct therapy services to both children and adults
- Must be willing to work with children ages 5 and older
- Experience coordinating care and communicating effectively with parents/caregivers
- Strong clinical documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a supportive team environment
- Must be responsive via email and electronic communications
- Must be willing to provide in-person services in the office at least 2 days per week
Scheduling Requirements
Candidates must have availability for appointments outside of school hours, including:
- At least 2 days of after-school/evening availability, which may include:
- Two weekdays with appointments between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM,
- OR
- One weekday evening plus one Saturday or Sunday morning shift of approximately 4 hoursResponsibilities
- Provide individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults
- Support clients experiencing perinatal and family-related mental health concerns
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers to support treatment goals
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in care coordination as needed
- Uphold ethical and professional standards of practice
