Job Overview
We are currently looking for an On-Site Superintendent in the Greater Atlanta Area. The Superintendent oversees all on-site aspects of commercial construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. This role leads subcontractor communication, coordinates the project schedule, enforces safety protocols, and serves as the primary point of contact for field operations. This role is 100% on site for the duration of the project and will require travel as needed.
General Responsibilities
- Monitor, promote, and enforce safety on the job site at all times.
- Manage the field budget by keeping track of all job site expenses and stay within original estimated project budget.
- Lead field communication and manage all on-site personnel.
- Solely responsible for generating daily and safety reports; the Superintendent must work with other members of the team to complete schedule adjustments and submit weekly reports to customers.
- Read plans, specs, and important documents in both physical and digital (tablet, phone, etc.) formats.
- Consistently communicate with internal team members regarding progress, issues, and other pertinent field information.
- Schedule inspections as required by the local jurisdiction.
- Work with all external parts of the team to ensure the desired result is achieved - i.e. owner, subcontractors, civil engineers, architects, geotechnical engineers, and more.
Experience and Qualifications
- 3 years of previous experience as a Superintendent within the commercial construction industry (restaurant, c-store, retail or similar focuses are preferred).
- Ability to survey the job site daily to provide quality control and help subcontractors as needed.
- Ability to pick up and move heavy material as needed.
- Experience offloading and moving materials using a lull.
- Able to maintain a professional approach and manage conflict.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support internal and external partners.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
