Experienced Cook

Join DMR Events and put your culinary skills to work with some of the top food service operations in the St. Louis metro area. We are looking for experienced, dependable cooks who thrive in fast-paced kitchens and can confidently work with minimal supervision.

As an experienced cook, you'll prepare high-quality food, support kitchen operations, and work alongside professional culinary teams in hospitals, universities, corporate dining, banquet facilities, catering companies, and special events.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.

• Work grill, sauté, breakfast, and entrée stations with confidence.

• Assist with soups, sauces, proteins, vegetables, starches, and other hot food production.

• Perform display cooking, including omelet stations and carving when needed.

• Lead banquet plate-up and assist with high-volume service.

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

• Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

• Work independently while supporting the kitchen team during busy service.

Qualifications

• 3 years of professional cooking experience (excluding fast food)

• Current ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification

• Up-to-date Hepatitis A vaccination records (required)

• Strong knife skills and knowledge of professional cooking techniques

• Experience working grill, sauté, breakfast, and banquet service

• Ability to read and follow recipes with minimal supervision

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

• Smartphone with texting and email capabilities

• Proper chef attire

• Must be at least 18 years old
