What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Support position at DMOS?
Looking for a position with part-time hours? Our billing support team is seeking an individual to join the team at 24-hours per week to assist with answering phones, taking and applying payments over the phone to patient accounts, and assisting patients with any questions related to their billing statement. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is well-organized that pays close attention to detail. Prior billing experience, preferred. This is a part-time (24-hours/week) in office position located at our West Des Moines office.
The anticipated schedule of this position is Monday - Friday, working 4-5 hours per week to meet the 24-hour requirement.
Here’s What You Can Expect
- You will be sitting at a desk for extended periods of time, that may feel unnatural, where you will be working on a computer and utilizing a phone to communicate with patients.
- You will accurately post payments to accounts, these may be receive via mail for insurance claim payments or via patient phone calls.
- You will work with an organized team of individuals ensuring proper processing of patient payments and documentation processes.

- Communication. You communicate in a clear and professional tone. Understand the importance of listening and asking questions to determine next steps.
- Well-organized. Accurately maintain records of patient information and payments.
- Detail oriented. Understanding of processes and procedures for handling private information while verifying appropriate information is disbursed.
