What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at DMI Companies?
OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to perform a variety of duties including the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of production and facility equipment to support a lean and efficient manufacturing operation.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
- Conduct preventative maintenance on plant production equipment and support systems and respond to emergency repairs as needed.
- Operate shop equipment including hand/power tools, measuring devices and material handling equipment as needed.
- Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical and carpentry installation and repairs.
- Fabrication of equipment to improve its overall safety for users.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Profound knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment
- Preventative Maintenance, follow planned maintenance schedule to keep equipment in optimal working order.
- Troubleshooting: use skill to identify and solve complex problems, often involving electrical and mechanical issues.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Competence with a wide range of tools, from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work. Able to follow and give directions as required.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic air systems
- Experience with industrial electrical and electronic repairs
- Understanding of plant production equipment and building support systems.
- Prior maintenance of lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, milling machines, power and manual hand tools
EDUCATION
- High school diploma required.
- Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- MS Office software.
