Job Description:
As the Operations Manager at DME, you will oversee and coordinate the firm's daily operations, supporting project execution, resource planning, process improvement, and organizational growth. You will work closely with leadership, project managers, and administrative staff to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and maintain high levels of client service. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership: Manage and oversee daily business operations to ensure efficient and effective execution of company objectives.
2. Resource Planning: Coordinate staffing, workload distribution, and resource allocation across project teams using our software platform.
3. Lead weekly production meetings with staff.
4. Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and refine operational procedures to improve productivity, quality, and consistency.
5. Project Support: Collaborate with project managers and department leaders to support project delivery, scheduling, and client commitments.
6. Financial Oversight: Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, project tracking, and operational performance metrics.
7. Team Management: Provide leadership and support to administrative and operational staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
8. Vendor & Facility Management: Coordinate relationships with vendors, service providers, and facility partners to support office operations.
9. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, licensing requirements, and operational documentation standards.
10. Strategic Initiatives: Support company growth initiatives, organizational development, and long-term business objectives.
11. Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators and provide recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
2. 8 years of experience in MEP engineering, design, project delivery, construction or related role.
3. Experience within an engineering consulting, architecture, construction, or professional services environment.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
6. Understanding of engineering design documentation, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.
7. Bonus:
a. Experience with project management, ERP, CRM, or resource planning systems.
