Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Laboratory Supervisor to lead and oversee our dental laboratory operations. Duties
- Supervise daily laboratory activities, including the fabrication and finishing of dental prostheses such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported restorations
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of dental prescriptions and patient-specific requirements
- Oversee the use of CAD/CAM software and 3D CAD modeling for digital design and custom prosthetic fabrication
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within the laboratory environment
- Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated safely
- Monitor quality assurance standards, inspecting finished products for accuracy, fit, aesthetics, and durability
- Manage inventory levels of dental materials, ceramics, implants, and other supplies necessary for production
- Train and mentor laboratory technicians in advanced techniques such as removable prosthodontics, full arch restorations, and ceramic layering
- Collaborate with dental teams to support chairside assisting during complex procedures when needed
- Maintain detailed medical documentation, records of procedures performed, and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and laboratory techniques used in prosthodontics and implantology
- Proficiency in digital design software (CAD) and CAM software for precise prosthetic fabrication
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling for custom prosthetic solutions including full arch restorations
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique in a clinical-laboratory setting
- Ability to operate advanced dental equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, and milling machines
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documenting patient records accurately within the dental practice management system (e.g., Epic)
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry, pediatrics, and medical coding standards
- Excellent leadership skills to supervise a team effectively while fostering a collaborative environment
- Ability to assess patient needs through collaboration with clinicians and support chairside assisting when necessary
