Chief Electrical Estimator

We have partnered with a highly reputable, long-established electrical contractor in the Waterbury, Connecticut area that specializes in complex commercial and healthcare construction projects. Due to continued growth and strategic initiatives, they are seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead and elevate their estimating division.

Position Overview

The Chief Electrical Estimator will oversee all estimating operations, with a strong focus on commercial healthcare projects. This individual will play a critical role in guiding the company through its transition from Accubid to ConEst software, while mentoring and developing the estimating team to ensure long-term success and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all estimating functions for commercial and healthcare electrical projects
• Manage, train, and mentor the estimating department, fostering a culture of growth and accountability
• Spearhead the company’s transition from Accubid to ConEst, including implementation, training, and optimization
• Develop and standardize estimating procedures, best practices, and workflows
• Review and finalize complex, large-scale bids and proposals
• Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, project pursuits, and business development initiatives
• Ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability of all estimates
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
• Identify opportunities to expand and grow the estimating division

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in electrical estimating, with a strong background in commercial healthcare projects
• Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring estimating teams
• Expert-level proficiency in ConEst software (required)
• Experience with Accubid and leading system transitions is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and healthcare construction requirements
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to operate at an executive level and contribute to overall company growth
