Position Summary

DMC is looking for a Project Controller for the project site located in Arizona-USA. The Project Controller monitors, controls and reports the progress of the project ensuring the effectiveness and appropriate integration of cost controls, scheduling, progressing, change management and estimating on the project. This position will interface with all departments across the engineering, procurement, and construction of the project.

Rotation schedule may vary depending on location of candidate hired.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for cost management; development and implementation of cost control systems for engineering, procurement and construction activities, cost reporting, cost variance analysis, trending, forecasting and cash flows.
• Ensures that the project schedule is updated and current and communicated to the Project Team
• Ensures forecasts are prepared and integrated according to project and DMC requirements.
• Ensures effective cost control, assessment and analysis is performed and reported.
• Ensures that suitable procedures and systems for project planning and scheduling are followed.
• Ensures accuracy in the reporting of progress and productivity and earned value
• Responsible for creating internal status reports (cost, manpower etc.) and external weekly and monthly reports to the Client.
• Assessment of Subcontractor cost submissions for management approval
• Ensures that all invoicing is appropriately reviewed, recorded and stored.
• Monitor and action past due invoices and payments.
• Generate project accruals for submission to the Client.
• Ensure the accurate, complete, and auditable invoices (progress certificates) are generated and submitted to the client.
• Ensure that all cost data is appropriately managed, accessible and auditable.
• Control, analyze and processes change to scope, cost and schedule on the project.
• Promote the communication of change occurring at site and head office engineering and schedules change meetings appropriately.
• Responsible for communicating potential corrective actions with the DMC Project Team.
• Interact with engineering, procurement, and construction personnel to understand and communicate issues and conflicts that impact the schedule and/or cost.
• Other related duties as may be assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5 years of project controls experience including planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and estimating.
• Must have experience supporting construction and mining projects.
• Project scheduling experience.
• Experience in Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) projects would be an asset.
• MS Word / Excel and P6 software proficiency required.
• Experience doing cost loaded schedules and earned value progress.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail.
