About the Position:
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to join our team. Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, the successful candidate will perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness.
- Interview patients to obtain and update medical history, assessing risk factors.
- Explain procedures, including potential side effects and risks, to patients.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script.
- Review images, document exceptions, and communicate data to radiologists.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies.
- Provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
- Offer imaging education to residents and new employees.
- Able to take call/standby as required by the department.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training is required.
- Strong analytical, clinical, and interpersonal skills necessary for patient interaction and technical procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment with complex priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
