Job Description
We are seeking a Service Technician with general handyman experience to join our team. Candidates must have experience with general carpentry, painting, drywall repair, caulking, etc. Plumbing and electrical skills are a plus. Technicians are required to have their own basic hand tools.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks in commercial restaurant and retail environments, including carpentry, drywall patching, painting, tile repair, caulking, and minor electrical work.
- Respond to service calls for facility issues such as clogged toilets, damaged walls, broken fixtures, and general wear-and-tear repairs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with doors, ceilings, flooring, and hardware using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Complete scheduled work orders efficiently and in alignment with DMC Quality Standards.
- Accurately document work performed using a tablet-based system, including before-and-after photos and technician notes.
- Adhere to safety standards and building codes during all installations and repairs.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and team members to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency service calls.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of trade-based experience
- Able to perform high-level, quality work in compliance with local codes and industry standards
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Technical proficiency i.e., ability to scan, fax, and email photos, use and navigate in mobile applications, etc. All work is completed via iPad.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both written and verbally
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Participate in a rotation for on-call off hours service
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License and role includes travel in NJ-NY-PA-DE region.
- Individual must have reliable transportation & their own trade tools
- Able to lift 35 to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
