Mechanical Engineering Lead

Description

As a Mechanical Engineering Lead at DMC, you will help establish and grow our mechanical engineering team. Driving design excellence across automation, test, and embedded hardware projects, this role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver high-quality, practical solutions. In addition to mentoring teammates, you'll play a key role in improving DMC's mechanical engineering tools, standards, and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Leads mechanical design for multidisciplinary projects
• Manages, mentors, hires, and trains new mechanical engineering team members
• Defines and upholds engineering standards, tools, and best practices
• Provides technical oversight and leads formal design reviews
• Partners cross-functionally and with customers on planning, sales, and refining design requirements
• Scopes and estimates mechanical design and fabrication efforts
• Collaborates with vendors and internal teams on sourcing, manufacturability, and design validation
• Improves documentation, drawings, BOM structure, and revision control
  
  

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field (minimum GPA 3.4)
• 10 years of mechanical design experience
• Proven ability to lead teams and mentor junior engineers
• Skilled in managing multiple projects and engaging directly with customers
• Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
• Experience with custom automation, specialty machines, or capital equipment (preferred)
• Capable of occasional travel

Compensation is based on relevant experience, industry and location standards.

Salary Range

$115,000—$130,000 USD
