Overview
A high-end private household seeks a skilled, creative, and health-minded Sous Chef to support a robust culinary team with daily culinary operations. This full-time, live-out position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with occasional travel to additional residences, roughly six weeks per year.
The Sous Chef will collaborate on menu design, prepare and serve daily meals, assist with private dinners and small events, and ensure consistent quality, freshness, and presentation. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, discreet, and thrives in a collaborative, service-oriented kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily menu planning and meal execution aligned with principals’ preferences and dietary needs.
- Prepare healthy, seasonal cuisine with an emphasis on organic and locally sourced ingredients.
- Maintain exceptional kitchen organization, hygiene, and food safety standards.
- Assist with event preparation, table presentation, and coordination of special requests.
- Source specialty products, manage inventory, and reduce waste.
- Travel as needed to provide seamless culinary service at additional properties.
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited culinary school preferred.
- 3–5 years’ experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or private household settings.
- Strong understanding of organic, farm-to-table, and health-conscious cooking.
- Proven ability to balance multiple priorities with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; polished, calm, and discreet demeanor.
- U.S. passport and valid driver’s license required; must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Local to the Scottsdale area is strongly desired; candidates with ties to the area will be considered on a case by case basis.
