Full-Time Housekeeper

A warm, down-to-earth family of three (two adults and a teenager) living in the Santa Cruz Mountains, just five minutes from Route 17, is looking for a full-time housekeeper to help keep their home organized, clean, and running smoothly. They value kindness, reliability, and a calm, capable presence in their home.

Household Overview
- Home size: Approximately 3,000 sq. ft.
- Location: Santa Cruz Mountains (5 minutes off Route 17)
- Environment: Peaceful, pet-filled home surrounded by nature
Animals (MUST LOVE PETS!)
This home is full of love—and fur, feathers, and personality.
- Several indoor cats (with an automatic litter box system)
- Large, friendly dogs
- Parrots!
Pet-related duties include:
- Cleaning litter boxes every 1–2 days
- Cleaning parrot cages weekly
- Feeding and light pet care
- Occasional dog assistance (walks or watching them briefly)
- Pet sitting would be a bonus, but not required
Candidates must not have any pet allergies and should be comfortable working around large dogs and multiple animals at once.
Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Full-scale housekeeping: cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, tidying, and maintaining all areas of the home
- Laundry: washing, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away neatly
- Household organization: maintaining order in closets, kitchen, and storage spaces
- Daily rhythm management—helping the household run efficiently and stay on track
Secondary Duties (Bonus Skills)
- Light meal prep (vegan/pescatarian-friendly; they enjoy a variety of cuisines)
- Occasional errands or family assistance (as needed)
- Helping maintain the flow of household supplies
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working in private homes
- Genuine love for animals—comfortable caring for cats, dogs, and birds
- Organized, proactive, and reliable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must speak and understand English well
- Tech-friendly (comfortable using text/email)
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to undergo an in-depth background investigation and have positive references from former employers
- Non-smoker/vaper
Physical Requirements
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to safely handle cleaning tasks in a multi-level home
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $45–$55/hour depending on experience
