Job Summary
The Working Electrical Foreman is a hands-on leader responsible for performing electrical installation work while supervising and coordinating the daily activities of an electrical crew. This position leads by example, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable electrical codes. The Working Electrical Foreman serves as the primary on-site point of contact and works closely with project management to meet schedule, quality, and budget goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair work alongside crew members
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate electricians and apprentices on assigned job sites
- Plan daily work activities and assign tasks to maximize productivity
- Read, interpret, and execute work from electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and company standards
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA requirements; conduct jobsite safety meetings
- Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
- Order materials, verify deliveries, and manage tools and equipment on site
- Track labor hours, productivity, and job progress; provide updates to project management
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and installation challenges
- Train, mentor, and evaluate electricians and apprentices through hands-on leadership
- Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, and jobsite documentation
- Represent the company professionally with customers, inspectors, and trade partners
Qualifications
- Active Journeyman Electrician license
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience
- Prior foreman, lead electrician, or crew lead experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the NEC and electrical construction methods
- Proven ability to lead while actively performing electrical work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schedules
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform hands-on electrical work throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work at heights
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments

- Commercial and industrial construction sites
- Work may involve varying weather conditions, early start times, overtime, or weekend hours as required by project schedules
