DLP Services is currently accepting applications for the position of:

• POSITION TITLE: GROUNDSKEEPER
• FLSA: Non-Exempt.
• Hire Pay: $17.75 H & W
• Classification: Full Time.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The landscaper will be responsible for ensuring that the landscape of the institution is both functional and aesthetically pleasing by maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, stair paths, retaining walls, and turf. As well as, maintaining the condition of the greenery by using insecticides, chemical sprays and keeping the grounds free of trash.

JOB SUMMARY:
The responsibilities of a landscaper include, but are not limited to:

• Gather and remove trash.
• Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
• Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Mix and spray or spread herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming.
• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials.
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Clean outdoor facilities or sites.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
• Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good communication skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for long periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

• Receives supervision from the site manager.
• The position has formally assigned supervisory responsibility and authority.
• Must complete jobs without constant supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The principal duties of this position are performed in an outdoor environment, with high and low temperatures.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:

• This position is subject to pre-employment drug testing.
• DLP Staffing has a Drug Free Workplace Policy which includes Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a federal background check
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
