Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Periodontist to join our established, patient-centered dental practice, with locations in downtown Washington, DC, and Rockville, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and treating periodontal disease, along with strong clinical experience in dental implants, soft tissue surgery, and regenerative procedures.

Our modern facilities feature a fully functioning in-house dental lab, laser technology, platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), CBCT imaging, and X-NAV dynamic navigation technology. Our Rockville location is licensed for sedation, supporting comprehensive treatment and enhanced patient comfort.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat periodontal disease through nonsurgical and surgical therapies.
- Perform dental implant placement, soft tissue grafting, periodontal regeneration, and pocket reduction procedures.
- Perform dental extractions and related surgical procedures within the scope of periodontal practice.
- Complete comprehensive evaluations, including review of medical histories, periodontal charting, and diagnostic imaging.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and overall oral health.
- Collaborate with general dentists, specialists, and the in-house lab to coordinate treatment.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA requirements and practice protocols.
- Follow established infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients about periodontal health, treatment options, preventive care, and postoperative instructions.
- Stay current with advances in periodontics through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental institution.
- Completion of an accredited postgraduate specialty program in periodontics.
- Active dental licensure in the jurisdiction where services will be provided—Maryland and/or the District of Columbia.
- Strong clinical skills in periodontal surgery, implant placement, soft tissue procedures, and regenerative therapies.
- Sound clinical judgment and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Strong documentation skills and knowledge of patient privacy and infection control standards.
- Ability to work effectively with dental assistants, general dentists, specialists, and administrative team members.

Pay: $170,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
