Position
Access Control / Low Voltage Contractor (Independent Contractor – 1099)

Project Overview
Contractors will install and configure smart access devices in secure panels at commercial sites in the Philadelphia, PA metro area and surrounding regions. Scope may range from integrating into an existing access control infrastructure to a full system installation — including running power, mounting panels, and installing door strikes or other locking hardware.

What You’ll Do

• Perform integration or full system installations based on site requirements
• Follow manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and local codes
• Self-schedule assignments and report completions independently via our portal
• Ensure professional presentation and site conduct as an independent service provider
• Adhere to all safety protocols and licensing requirements

Who We’re Looking For

• Valid license/registration as required for access control/security systems work in Pennsylvania (most low-voltage work is exempt from statewide electrical licensing; local Philadelphia permits or contractor registration through the Department of Licenses and Inspections may apply)
• Demonstrated experience in Access Control installation, service, and troubleshooting
• Skilled in both retrofit and new system installs (including power, panel, and hardware)
• Own professional-grade tools and reliable, insured transportation (truck or van preferred)
• Active general liability insurance
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail
• Customarily engaged in an independently established trade or business in low-voltage/access control services (e.g., operate as a separate business entity providing services to multiple clients)

Compensation

• Paid on a per-installation (piece-rate) basis
• Competitive rates negotiated per contract, based on scope, expertise, and job location

This is an independent contractor opportunity (1099). No employment relationship is created or implied. Contractors maintain full control over their methods, schedule, and business operations. All arrangements comply with Minnesota worker classification requirements (free from control and customarily engaged in an independent trade).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $1.00 - $15,000.00 per month
