Our client, an expanding property management company in Cherry Hill, NJ, seeks a competent and meticulous Bookkeeper to provide support to their growing team. You will be responsible for managing account receivables and payables, bookkeeping, rent collections, and client services for commercial properties under their management in New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
This role requires extensive experience with QuickBooks and a solid grasp of accounting principles specific to the property management industry. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, professional, able to manage their workload efficiently, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced real estate environment.
This position is on-site at our client's office in Cherry Hill, NJ, Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Input and maintain property records
- Generate financial reports
- Record daily financial transactions including but not limited to: rent payments, vendor/contractor payments, CAM payments, real estate taxes and utility payments, etc
- Validate the collection, disbursement, and recording of security deposits in accordance with legal requirements.
- Promptly handle accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Actively address delinquencies and implement necessary measures.
- Provide clear explanations of tenant charges and credits.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; property management experience preferred
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks
- Experience with Buildium, Appfolio, or similar systems preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, especially as they relate to property operations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and tenants
