CNC Machine Operator

2nd Shift/ Monday-Thursday/ 4:30pm-3:00am/ Starting Hourly rate is $18.00 - $30.00; based on skill, knowledge and experience level will be taken into consideration.

Summary:

Candidates should be experienced with various machines including but not limited to, saws, engine lathes, turret lathes, drills, milling machines, NC and CNC machines. Ideal candidates would have skill and expertise including but not limited to working with different types of materials, understanding of tolerances and learn and/or conduct possible machine programming changes.

Essential Duties:

All employees are expected to perform the essential functions of the job. The DLM Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned:

• Reads drawings or work orders for specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions on holding devices, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts and cutting tools.
• Ability and/or willing to learn interpretation of blueprints, experience involving GD&T and/or Mazatrol is helpful but not necessary in determining the sequence of operations in the machining of a variety of parts.
• Sets up and operates machines to meet product quality requirements. Removes burrs and sharp edges on work pieces.
• Performs inspection of work pieces as determined by quality plans, control charts and routings.
• Performs minor preventive maintenance on production equipment such as cleaning, lubricating and visually inspecting equipment to identify actual and/or potential problems.
• Set-up, fixture and machine all of the required features on a variety of parts on lathes and mills to specified requirements and tolerances.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Environmentally aware when adding and disposing of used fluids and other material to comply with the D.L. Martin Environmental Policy.

Qualifications Requirements

The employee must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Trained in the proper handling and disposal of hazardous fluids in accordance with ISO 14001 standards. Education and/ or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years of prior machining experience with ability to read drawings and use inspection equipment preferred.

• Regularly stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; talk or hear; and lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. ·
• Occasionally walk; stoop or kneel; and reach with arms. ·
• Utilize specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision and depth perception.

• Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently is exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
• Works in an environment where the noise level is usually loud.
