Come Join Our Team! DKW Communications, Inc. (DKW) is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies i.e. defense, law enforcement and security. We are currently looking for a Software Engineer to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer located in Pensacola, FL. This is an onsite position.
Overview
The Software Engineer will join our ISEO – Air Traffic Control (ATC) team based at NATTC Pensacola in Pensacola, FL.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Air Traffic Control simulator support to include software programming and documentation support/development
- Provide hardware support to include: running (floor and above ceiling) cables; printing and attaching labels to cabling; moving/removing/installing computer equipment in cabinets, consoles, etc.; mounting and connecting computer equipment as designed on CAD/VISIO drawings/diagrams
- Software programming in (but not limited to) C and C , with command line scripting in Bash, csh, batch files on both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Debug legacy code written by others, and implement fixes or new functionality in the legacy code as required
- Deliver detailed notes of procedures developed and convey daily/weekly/monthly progress reports on assigned work
Qualifications/Requirements
- Secret security clearance will be required to start.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years of practical experience in software development associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains
- Demonstrated experience programming with: GUIs (Graphical User Interfaces), real-time systems, network communication, I/O (Input-Output) device interfacing
- Experience with ATC simulators desired.
- Experience with developing CAD/VISIO drawings a plus.
- Ability to understand and interpret a wide range of non-engineering, nonscientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DoN/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must be able to determine the applicability of these documents to assignments
- Minimum of an IAT Level I certification is strongly preferred (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
