Account Supervisor - DKCulture Team

We are looking for an LA based Account Supervisor for our Culture Practice. The Account Supervisor has not only excelled at sophisticated media relations initiatives but has demonstrated an ability to help create strategic plans and is expected to be a leader who can run accounts independently, motivate account teams and gain the confidence of clients. The Account Supervisor must manage multiple responsibilities of generating meaningful and impactful publicity, handle increasingly complex writing assignments, participate in strategic development sessions for clients, supervise junior staff and begin to generate new business.

DKCulture is a division of DKC that connects the dots for brands with multicultural Millennials, Gen Z and Gen Alpha consumers. We are a bi-coastal collective of strategic thinkers, storytellers and counselors deeply rooted in today’s lifestyle, music, sports, celebrity, entertainment, fashion and political worlds.

Specific requirements are as follows:

Strategy

• Thoroughly understand clients’ strategic imperatives/business objectives and actively participate in the development of strategic plans, communications programs, etc.
• Drive creativity and big thinking among the DKC team and get the clients on board with that thinking.
• Provide senior staff client opinion and direction during the development of strategic plans, communications programs, etc.

Writing

• Proficiency in the creation of all press materials such as pitch letters, press releases, fact sheets, bios, etc. in accordance with the client’s strategic objectives, brand identity, etc.
• Proficient in the creation of internal and external documents such as memoranda, client updates, etc.
• Direct staff on the creation of all materials and serve as a team leader. Ensure that materials executed by staff are 100 percent satisfactory before they are submitted to senior staff or the client.

Media Relations/Publicity

• Have deep relationships at multiple levels at major national and New York-based traditional and new media outlets as well as outlets relevant to his / her clients.
• Strong understanding of social media and knowing who the relevant content creators are in the areas of Culture & Lifestyle
• Ability to implement – with significant autonomy outside of regularly scheduled meetings - impactful publicity with the frequency, size and outlet reach necessary to accomplish the client’s strategic imperatives / business objectives.
• Ability to get the big hit!
• Create and execute forums, sessions, social engagements, etc. where fellow DKC colleagues can meet and/or develop relationships with relevant members of the media.

Client Service

• Communicate clearly, comfortably and in an informed/prepared manner with senior staff and independently with clients daily.
• Lead calls and meetings with clients.

Leadership

• Run accounts, supervise staff, problem solve and be a mentor.
• Demonstrate a willingness and ability to lead.
• Ability to solve most internal staff problems as well as problems on the client side.

New Business

• Demonstrate willingness to learn about originating new business, participate in new business sessions and take part in pitches.
• Ability to originate new business which is not a requirement at this level but is looked at favorably.

Our office has a hybrid work model: in office 3 days a week, working remote 2 days a week.

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $80,000 to $100,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
