Job Skills / Requirements
SCOPE: The variable hour/on-call Defensive Tactics and Firearms Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in firearms safety, marksmanship, use of force, and defensive tactics to security personnel. Additionally, this role is responsible for evaluating first aid, CPR, and AED skills from assigned new and re-certifying employees. Ultimately, this role ensures all training meets legal standards, company policies, contractual obligations, and industry best practices. The trainer will assess trainee performance, submit accurate training records, and contribute to the development of curriculum and training materials.

$25.00/hr.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Conduct classroom and hands-on instruction in firearms safety, use of force, defensive tactics, and situational awareness.
· Lead live-fire range sessions, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
· Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.
· Conduct ProFirstAid and other associated medical first responder (lay-rescuer) skill evaluations based upon prescribed company and ProTrainings protocols.
· Maintain and submit accurate training records and certifications to the Compliance & Training Department.
· Stay current with legal standards, licensing requirements, and industry trends.
· Must demonstrate and effectively instruct DK Security’s G.I.F.T.S. policy to all trainees and throughout interactions with client personnel and patrons.
· Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding firearms and use of force.
· Collaborate with other trainers and departments to support ongoing professional development.
· Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance reviews.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America,
- Must have a current, valid Concealed Pistol License and Firearms Instructor Certification (e.g., NRA, USCCA, MCOLES, or equivalent).
- Must have a current, valid Defensive Tactics Instructor Certification (PPCT/HFRG preferred).
- Must be able and successfully become CPR/First Aid/AED Certified (prior certification is preferred).
- Must successfully become a ProTrainings Skill Evaluator.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent (some college coursework in criminal justice or related field preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security.
- Prior experience as a certified trainer or instructor preferred.
- Must be of good moral character and have the ability to pass a criminal background check, with no felony convictions, and no misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, illegal substances, multiple alcohol related offenses, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and annually thereafter.
