Officers at this site location will work to protect the facility and employees of a local pharmaceutical company. This is your opportunity to work on a team that serves a truly critical purpose!SCHEDULE:Part Time:Various Days, Various Hours COMPENSATION: Rate of Pay: $30/hr or Site RateBenefits: dental, vision, life insurance, group accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, identity theft protection, and Paid Medical Leave (eligibility requirements apply).LOCATION: Downtown Grand Rapids, MIJOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc.Observes and reports activities and incidents at assigned client location.Guard posts – this may include building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc.Conduct periodic foot patrols of the assigned locations to check for irregularities, unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances/exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, and will enforce policies and procedures for the site location.Check for employee and vendor identifications.Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities.Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.Maintain regular communication with the designated client contact, follow through with client requests and keep operations manager updated as to client communication.Must follow and enforce site specific post guidelines.Understand and implement DK’s GIFTS program.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:Preferred Skills: law enforcement, military, criminal justice field, and customer service.Must be at least 21 years old or older.Must have high school diploma or GED.Must have a current, valid Concealed Pistol License.Must be of good moral character, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, drugs, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.Must pass a 5-panel drug screen upon hire and periodically thereafter.2 years of experience as a law enforcement officer preferred.Must have a reliable vehicle, as well as a valid driver’s license with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, and no alcohol related infractions in the past 5 years.Must present a friendly, positive, professional image to Clients, employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public.Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.Must possess computer skills; specifically, in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.Must have a flexible schedule.Must have impeccable grooming.Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.Physical Requirements:Must be physically and mentally soundMust be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
