Job Summary
*We are seeking a dedicated, kind and energetic Direct Support Professional (SSP) to provide support for a sweet and outgoing individual in her home and out in the community.
*She needs both daytime, evening, and overnight hours, so please share your availability in a message. See below for schedule. Overnights and day/evening are different roles with different pay rates.
*We typically reach out and arrange a prescreen call to review the requirements and your questions
*Experience with supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavior support needs required.

Schedule:
Shifts are Sun, Mon, Tues, Fri and Sat 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Wed and Thurs 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM. Overnights are Sun-Thurs 10 PM- 8:00 AM. Some Friday and Saturday nights may be available when needed and arranged. Please share your availability.
About the job:
*Candidate should be encouraging, energetic, positive, caring, and committed to assisting an individual with intellectual disabilities with living her life with independence, choice, inclusion, and respect. Must also be patient, reliable, a good communicator and listener.
*Must work well as a team player. Will be following an ISP and Behavior Support Plan as well as documenting daily notes.
*Job includes being creative in finding meaningful community events to participate in, supporting individual in faith based community activities as well as accompanying to fellowship, ministry, and church opportunities; supporting and teaching independent living skills such as cooking, chores, personal hygiene, healthy eating choices, and accountability; creating a safe, positive, fun, and encouraging atmosphere within the home; some light housekeeping and cooking.
*Will be involved with working with parents in establishing goals and ensuring progress is being made
*Must pass all required background checks, have a driver's license and safe driving record
*Must be certified in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver, training can be provided
*Must complete training with the Arc (Arc AWC, Bethlehem, PA)
*Pay is 25.10 per hour
*Staff car is provided
*Home is a non-smoking environment
