Job Title: Residential Framing Lines & Layout Crew

Position Overview
We are seeking 2-3 skilled and detail-oriented team members to join our residential framing team, specializing in lines & layout. This crew is responsible for neatly & accurately transferring plans to slab, ensuring all framing starts with precise layout and alignment. This role is critical to maintaining build quality, minimizing rework, and keeping projects on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Lines & Layout Execution
- Inspect slabs for dimensional accuracy & surface issues prior to popping lines and report to Framing Superintendent(s)
- Accurately pull/snap lines on slabs in accordance with construction plans and specifications
- Transfer all plan details and layouts for walls, openings, and structural components neatly & accurately
- Verify dimensions, square, and alignment before framing begins
Plan Interpretation
- Read and interpret blueprints, plot plans, and framing details
- Identify discrepancies between plans and field conditions
Quality Control
- Ensure all layout meets company tolerances and quality standards
- Identify and correct layout issues early to prevent costly rework
- Flag slab irregularities, out-of-square conditions, or dimensional concerns prior to layout
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with superintendents and framing crews to ensure accurate execution
- Communicate any layout or slab issues clearly and promptly
Site Readiness
- Confirm slab is clean and ready for layout
- Ensure layout markings are visible, accurate, and protected throughout framing process
- Ensure job site's are left clean
Qualifications
- 2 years of residential framing or layout experience preferred
- Strong understanding of framing plans and construction drawings
- Proficient with tape measure, chalk line, and layout tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Preferred Skills
- Experience with production homebuilding
- Knowledge of framing tolerances and best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
